Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. In the following months, several artists collaborated with reggaeton superstars like Drake as well as Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019. In 2020, a few Reggaeton artists were complaining about the trend of their genre to the mainstream. Yet, a young generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. The genre often incorporated electronic dance and other styles.
